Oh so many perks!- St. Louis Family Photography

I know I've said time and time again that I LOVE what I do, but I just need to say it again. 

There are so many perks with my job! 

First of all I love being able to get crafty. I'm not sure if "crafty" is a word, but I'm using it.  I actually got out of the house last night by myself (which is very rare) and set out to find things to bring on the creativity. 

I first visited the antique store. It's been way too long! There is never enough time there! I didn't find any props, but I did find a vintage set of tupperware for $9. Score! 

Then I had to of course go to Michael's. I always spend too much time there! And I did find lots of pretty pink for tomorrow's session. 

Another perk is using my own kids as models. I use them to test the lighting, placement, setting, etc. 

The result? New photos of my kids! Willow was my model today and quite a beautiful one! 

So, I totally just gave a sneak peek of tomorrow's backdrop. Oh well.

Anyone want to book a last minute portrait session with this backdrop? Its super girlie!

I am back in the swing of things! Yay! 

The house is done, we have moved in, maternity leave is over and I am ready to get back to work!

Saxon Memorial

So, it's been a long time and I mean a really long time since I have taken photos just because I enjoy it. Don't get me wrong, I do LOVE photographing families, kids and babies, but I also love fine art photography. I am still paying off student loans for my degree in fine art photography, so I must actually like it, right? But just like anything else in life things get in the way of doing the what you love. I'm sure some of you know what I'm talking about; kids, husbands, houses, ect. 

So, while I was doing a portrait session last weekend I took just a few seconds to photograph some things I thought looked cool. And here they are...

 If you can't tell I currently have an obsession with old farm houses. I believe that some day I WILL restore and live in one. And I just love old, vintage farm things.

My goodness, I would LOVE to live on a farm...I think. 

Grady- St. Louis Children Photography

I may be a little biased, but I am having a hard time picking my favorite photos of Grady. He is my one and only nephew (for now) and is such a handsome little guy. He was so cooperative and smiley, the fall colors were so magnificent that day and the lighting was just perfect, which resulted in a lot of photos!
